New Ulm Country Club

A southern Minnesota Semi-private club rich in history and tradition.

The Challenge
New Ulm Country Club already had the makings of a great brand, but needed the capabilities to share their message and essential club information with their Members and golfers. The challenge was to finish aligning their branding with a complete website redesign, and then build sustainable channels for Members, golfers, and restaurant guests to get the information they regularly need.

The Solution
We began with a completely new club website, which emphasized the brand elements that made NUCC unique. The color scheme, fonts, and iconic Cottonwood Tree logo tell a story that NUCC is proud of. We then took over content marketing, building out content for social media, weekly email newsletters, and print materials for club events and tournaments.

The Results

Our project with NUCC is near and dear to our hearts, and we’re proud of the results we’ve been able to achieve. NUCC’s brand unity is much improved, and Members have taken notice. NUCC’s Instagram audience reach grew 163% in 2022. NUCC’s weekly email newsletters also maintain email open rates over 2x the industry average.

Sleepy Eye Golf Club

A 9-hole Golf Course & Restaurant embracing a new chapter as a local hotspot.

The Challenge
Sleepy Eye Golf Club was poised for a breakthrough. As the Club made major investments in other areas, branding and marketing lagged behind. If the Club was to maximize its other investments, SEGC needed to take a major step forward to drive business through enhanced, modernized branding and aggressive content marketing.

The Solution
We helped SEGC through a complete rebrand, website redesign, and content marketing strategy. We initiated the regular usage of social media and email marketing, all while freeing up Club management to focus on new restaurant operations and becoming profitable. The Club is now has branding that matches its position as a premiere 9-hole club, specific branding for its restaurant - Prairie Greens Bar & Grill, and regularly reaches over 300,000 people on social media each year.

The Results

This is another project that harnesses the full power of what brand can do. These are a few of the highlights that we’re proud of.

  • SEGC saw a 25% increase in social media reach in 2022 from 2021. Their reach of 350,000 in 2022 is triple what it was two years ago.

  • SEGC grew their Facebook audience by 25% and their Instagram audience by 35% in 2022. Both platforms grew by an additional 30% in 2023.

  • SEGC send 20% more emails with a 7% higher open rate in 2022 than in 2021. Their average email open rate on publicly sent emails is over 50%.

  • SEGC reached 10,000 website page views in a year for the first time ever, with high-conversion paging having the first and second most views.

The Golf Project Indoor Golf Center

An Indoor Golf Center started out of a dream, and brought to life out of a love for golf.

The Challenge
The Golf Project was designed to be something new. Year-round golf in a small Minnesota town, an indoor golf performance studio, and a place for golfers to just pass the cold winter months. TGP was a startup idea, and they needed marketing assistance from the ground up.

The Solution
We worked with TGP to create a cohesive brand strategy on the edge of casual and smart. We created a brand with the color scheme and logo design you see on the left. We build a website with online booking capabilities for golf simulators and lessons. Finally, we created content to build brand awareness and share messaging on social media and YouTube.

The Results

TGP’s website has over 2,000 unique users each year (in a town with 13,000 people and a local country club membership of 375, we think that’s pretty good)! TGP and CCG (Caleb Christensen Golf Academy) social media platforms have over 2,500 combined followers.

Preferred Insurance Opportunities

A small town insurance agency with big time expertise and service

The Challenge
Preferred Insurance (PIOI) needed a refresh. Branding and website were outdated, and social media presence was nonexistent. Their clientele was getting younger, and Nick and team needed new channels from which to reach them. Enter Standout Marketing.

The Solution
We built PIOI a new website with a polished, dark look and refreshed branding. We incorporated smart lead capturing and campaign-specific landing pages into the design. Following the initial design, we still work with PIOI today developing an SEO strategy, optimizing website content, and writing long-form website content for their blog and email marketing.

The Results

Today, PIOI ranks top 5 regionally for over 100 specific SEO keywords and website engagement has increased over 60%. They’re building a content library on their website, and their overall search position continues to improve.

Evergreen Golf Company

A lifestyle brand passionate about golf, coffee, and keeping both accessible for everyone.

We helped Evergreen Golf Company (EGC) begin from the ground up. We began with establishing a brand identity that fit exactly what the brand was envisioned to be. We’re responsible for the creation of EGC’s Shopify e-Commerce site, social media channels, and all the content EGC posts. EGC’s content strategy is designed to evolve as the brand grows, but it will always showcase the originality of EGC.
