Be Thankful for Challenges
Learning to See challenges as opportunities and meet them with excitement creates a whole new, and much more free, way of thinking.
Change your way of thinking
You face challenges everyday. Challenges arise in your personal life, in school, in running your business, and in every other facet of life. Challenges are unavoidable, and we shouldn’t want them to be. Challenges are the defining moments in our lives. Some are minuscule and don’t amount to much. Others can shape careers, reputations, and lives. It’s up to us to respond to challenges in ways that are up to par with what we envision for our lives.
It’s easy to get weighed down by all the decision making. Like we said, some challenges carry huge consequences and that can be scary. You know what’s scarier? Letting indecision, sheer luck, or someone else decide the outcome. Thankfully for us, most of the time we have the ability to control what happens when we’re faced with a challenge. You’ve all heard the expression: Life isn’t about the challenges you’ve faced, but how you react and overcome them.
you control the outcome
Everyone faces challenges all the time. What separates people is how they react and control what happens next. Most people get hung up on the fact that something shitty happened to them and thanking that that shitty thing is how they’ll be defined. So not true. Exceptional people recognize that something shitty happened to them and then reflect, figure out why, reorganize themselves, form an attack plan or an expert pivot, and then make sure that their next steps (and their response to the shitty thing) is how they’re defined. Exceptional people influence the outcome, and a challenge or bad situation is not an outcome. It’s an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to show how strong, self-confident, and accepting of change you are. Great things often happen on the tail end of a challenge because challenges instigate change; change that you’re in charge of.
These moments shape who you are
Like we said before, life isn’t about the shitty things that happen to you. Shitty things happen to everyone all the time. It’s times where we’re forced to create change, pivot to a new strategy, go on the offensive that shape who you are. There are opportunities abound wherever there are challenges. You just need to take mini step back to take in the view, form an idea into a plan, and then you’ll already have taken the first three steps forward. Be someone who welcomes challenges because you know that there are opportunities for change and growth on the other side. Be someone who is thankful for challenges.
